Nicotine Strength of Your Vape Juice

Ultimate Vape Deals - Nicotine Strength of Your Vape Juice

You know when you get in the shower and you adjust the dial to get the correct temperature?

Too much to the right is too hot. Too much to the left is too cold. But there's always that sweet spot that's - to quote Goldilocks - juuuuust right.

It's the same with vaping, specifically when choosing the strength of your nicotine juice.

So you've decided you want to change your habits and switch to vaping. Or maybe you already vape and are just after some advice on choosing a nicotine strength.

That's where I come in.

Cigarettes vs. Vaping

By now we're all aware of how much damage cigarette smoke can do to you. But it's worth repeating one more time for clarity.

When the average cigarette contains over 400 different toxins, it's hardly surprising that millions are looking for alternatives.

With so many deaths caused by smoking each year, switching to vape (or 'e-cigarettes') is making cutting down or quitting easier. In fact, a study in the Addiction journal found that vaping is more effective in getting people to cut down than any other NRT (nicotine replacement therapy).

E-cigarettes contain none of the harmful chemicals that are associated with smoking, but the juice still has the nicotine that smokers require.

Cutting Down Or Quitting?

The question you may want to ask yourself then is are you looking for a healthier alternative to cigarettes, or do you want to cut down and maybe quit eventually?

Answering this will give you a good starting point in choosing the amount of vape nicotine you want.

Vapes come with different nicotine strengths. If you want to cut out cigarettes, juice that contains the same strength in mg (milligrams) might be the best solution.

You're changing your lifestyle, but still sticking to an amount of nicotine that you're used to.

Cutting down with a view to quitting entirely may mean starting off with one type of juice strength, and gradually reducing it over time to ease any addiction.

That's the good thing about nicotine juice in vapes: they come in a variety of strengths that are easy to switch out.

Nicotine Juice vs. the Average Cigarette

Here's something interesting: the average cigarette contains around 12mg of nicotine. Obviously, you can get higher strengths which go up to 24mg, but this will give you a good jumping off point.

Vape nicotine can go from as little as 0mg right up to 42mg at the extreme end of the scale.

This doesn't mean you should start small and work your way up (unless that's what you want), but it does mean you have quite a selection.

Knowing what's in the average cigarette is a good way to get a base figure of what you want to try.

The Goldilocks Rule

You know how much nicotine you need.

The key to choosing the right nicotine juice is to avoid what's too strong, or what's too weak. You need to get the balance just right, and then you can sleep soundly in Baby Bear's bed.
